1913 - 2007

Sept. 29/07 The driving force behind organized drag racing, Wally Parks, founder of the National Hot Rod Association, has died at the age of 94.

With innovation and foresight, it was Parks’ vision, goals and unconditional commitment to the need for speed and side-by-side racing in a safer, more controlled environment that created what is today the world's largest motorsports governing body.

Starting in the early 1950s, the NHRA grew from its Southern California roots under Parks’ supervision to become the premier drag racing sanctioning body of today.

The name Wally Parks is synonymous with drag racing and our sincerest condolences go out to the Parks Family.
