HOLLEY, NY (February 27, 2008) –Two-time NSCA Top Street World Champion Randy Jewell spent many years following the National Street Car Association circuit behind the wheel of Patrick Budd’s nitrous assisted Corvette. During that time he took two World Championships and one Championship runner-up back to his Holley, NY, home, but he never really got to race in his own backyard. The closest he came was when the NSCA ventured into Canada to the Grand Bend Motorplex. Now armed with the JFM Racing twin turbo Camaro he is getting that opportunity when he joins the 2008 PMRA tour.

Built by his own RJ ProFab concern, the Jewell, Falco & Mars Racing Camaro ran a restricted schedule in late 2007, cumulating in an end of season visit to the Orlando World Street Nationals.

Crew chief Gary Falco was happy with the outing considering how few laps were on the car, qualifying brought a position in the prestigious top ten and even a component failure in the second round failed to dampen the team’s spirits.

Randy JewellIn explaining the reasoning behind his move to the PMRA, Jewell said “I have been watching the series for a few years and it is going from strength to strength, it receives a lot of coverage in the media and really promotes its racers. With so many races being so close to home it only makes sense for us to run the PMRA.”

“Having a twin turbo car we will be bringing something new for the fans to see,” he added. “It will be a three-way battle now, turbo, nitrous and blower, and that should make for quite some excitement! The PMRA series gives us an opportunity to showcase the quality of work RJ ProFab produces, it is the ideal place for us to use as a marketing tool. I am looking forward to the year, I know it will be a tough deal but there should be plenty of fun along the way.”

Support for the JFM Racing team comes from RJ ProFab, R&L Auto, HeadsUpRacer.com, Akers Trucking, Competition Transmission & Converters, 5 Star Metal Fabrication, and Racepak. The team is currently in negotiation with other marketing partners and hopes to make some announcements in the near future.

PMRA tour stops in 2008 include two dates at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario, Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster, New York, Sanair in Quebec and the Southwestern Ontario track of Grand Bend Motorplex.

Negotiations are underway with several US race tracks based in Michigan, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania with the plan of presenting a seven-event PMRA drag racing series this season.
