PMRA Pro Modifieds back at Sanair in 2008
Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Business (Canadian Operations) to sponsor Eaton PMRA Challenge at Quebec facility
BURLINGTON, ONTARIO (April 24, 2008) – As part of its commitment to customer loyalty and appreciation along with presenting the best in Pro Modified drag racing, the Canadian electrical group of Eaton Corporation will once again be host for the Eaton Presents the Third Annual PMRA Challenge at the Sanair drag strip.
Situated just outside of St-Pie, Quebec, the Sanair track is just south of Montreal. This year’s race will be the fifth on the 2008 Pro Modified Racing Association Tour.
“Hosting this event in previous years has been a terrific way for us to reward those who remain loyal to the Cutler-Hammer® and Powerware® brands of Eaton products,” said Paul Tlustos, Marketing Communications Manager, Eaton (Canada). “The PMRA teams offer an outstanding day of racing for our guests, and everyone was thrilled to watch these 200-mph plus doorslammers put on a terrific show.”
Tlustos added about 600 invited Eaton customers, distributors, and employees will be on hand to witness the racing at the fabled Sanair facility. Eaton is the global leader in electrical control, power distribution, industrial automation products, power quality products and services.
“Since the PMRA teams have raced at Sanair, our fans have enjoyed the event and it has been a terrific success”, said Sanair Track Owner and General Manager Jacques Guertin. “The return of the PMRA will be one of the highlights of racing at Sanair.”
Guertin also mentioned he is very pleased to see the return of Eaton for the event. “We’re pleased Eaton is returning to Sanair,” he said. “They help put on a very professional show, and make the event first rate.”
Tlustos believes the race provides insight for its guests regarding Eaton’s involvement in motorsport.
“Quebec is an extremely important part of Eaton’s marketing efforts and this is a terrific way for us to reward customers loyal to the Cutler-Hammer® and Powerware® brands,” he said. “It is also an extremely exciting way to introduce those not familiar with Eaton products to our business. Eaton is pleased to continue its support of the PMRA and bring the excitement of Pro Modified racing to the terrific drag racing fans in Quebec.”
The Third Annual Eaton PMRA Challenge is scheduled to take place Saturday, August 16.
PMRA tour stops in 2008 include two dates at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario, New York International Raceway Park and Dunn Tire Raceway Park in New York, Sanair in Quebec, and the Southwestern Ontario track of Grand Bend Motorplex.
